| When the military arrive at Bob and Sue's house they bring
along a tape recorder to play the Martians message for Bob. This was inspired
by the scene in Plan 9 when the Military commander was playing a recorded
message for his colleague; in that scene on the close-ups of the recorder
you can see his hand even though on the wide shots his hand wasn't on the
recorder. In this scene on the close-ups we see the Colonel's thumb on the
recorder even though he is sitting back eating jello on the couch. |
